Helping dogs to thrive with learning, exercise, enrichment & socialisation

30+ years experience delivering personalised training for all dogs.

Why choose Dogz Only Training?

In the largely unregulated dog training industry, anyone can label themselves a “professional dog trainer” without holding formal qualifications. Combined with limited experience across different breeds, this can lead to poor outcomes for both dogs and their owners.

Our training methods are grounded in over 30 years of experience, supported by formal qualifications, ongoing professional development, and active collaboration with other qualified trainers.

Our all-female team of dedicated professionals is passionate about working with dogs and committed to delivering the highest standard of care and training. Nothing is more rewarding to us than seeing a dog grow in confidence and understanding through our training and daycare programs.

We offer programs tailored for dogs from 10 weeks of age through to adulthood, supporting them at every stage of their development.

TRAINING FOR ALL BREEDS, SIZES, AGES & SKILL LEVELS

As qualified trainers, we are transparent in our approach and do not mislead clients into believing that all behaviours can be “modified and /or fixed.” While many dogs respond well to basic obedience training—such as loose-lead walking, sit, drop, and reliable recall—others may require more specialised support to manage challenges like reactivity, prey drive, anxiety, or lack of focus.

Our training team conducts a thorough assessment of your dog’s individual needs and works closely with you to recommend a program designed to achieve the most effective results.

FAQ’s

Give us a call to discuss the best options for you and your dog. Our qualified trainers are here to help you on your dog training journey.

Yes — your dog will always be transported in a fully air-conditioned vehicle.

We never transport dogs in the back of utes, with or without a canopy. Even on mild days, canopy interiors can heat up rapidly—especially when parked in the sun. According to the RSPCA, dogs can suffer fatal heatstroke in as little as six minutes.

New South Wales (NSW) is also introducing stricter laws in 2026 regarding dogs left in hot vehicles, with penalties of up to $49,324 in fines and/or one year’s imprisonment. These laws recognise that temperatures inside a vehicle can become deadly within minutes—even if windows are partially open.

No – this approach isn’t recommended. Paying for sessions you may not need is not cost-effective and may drag the training process out.

Our pricing is tailored to your individual needs, taking into account each session, the skills being covered, and the progress of both you and your dog.

You’re welcome to attend, but it’s not required. Our trainers can work with your dog independently and will provide feedback at handover, including progress updates and guidance for ongoing practice at home.

Your dog’s current equipment will be carefully assessed by our trainer to ensure it is safe, effective, and appropriate for both your dog’s size and behaviour. Following this review, you will receive clear guidance on the most suitable equipment to use during training and everyday handling. We offer a comprehensive range of high-quality leads and collars designed to suit dogs of all breeds, sizes, and training needs.

For safety reasons, we do not permit the use of retractable leads. These leads can pose a significant risk of injury to the handler due to sudden pulling or tangling, and they often do not provide the level of control required for effective training. This lack of control can place both your dog and other dogs at risk, particularly in group or public environments. Additionally, retractable leads are typically bulky and can easily slip from your hand, increasing the likelihood of your dog becoming loose.

Our priority is to create a safe, controlled, and positive training experience for both you and your dog, and using the correct equipment plays a vital role in achieving this.
